Bridging The Gap

Bridging the Gap addresses the gap between in-hospital / post-hospital experiences and at home care environments. There is often overwhelming logistics along the road to wellness or the establishment of a care environment. It’s crucial that all planning takes a wholistic approach, with the wellbeing of the client and their family in mind. Bridging the Gap facilitates agile interaction between the client, family, and involved third parties, to ensure a smooth transition between all health-related activities, as well as provide information and care kits.

Grow Parkhurst grows plants for People. Bringing plants and people together.

Grow Parkhurst is a growing urban community initiative, based at the Parkhurst Recreation Centre in Region B. We grow and nurture a community food and herb garden. We want to grow nutritious plants for the people of Parkhurst and create safe spaces that encourage the personal growth and wellbeing through therapeutic practices like gardening, educational workshops, storytelling; and creative expression, encouraging the evolution of green sites across the neighbourhood, and rooting community collaboration through gardening and knowledge sharing practices.

Baobab Collab

Nature by its own design is collaborative, so it makes perfect sense for animator/maker; Tim Jardim and visual artist/grower; Pauline Borton to set up the Baobab Collab. Both parties are invested in creating projects, processes and products that consider education, regeneration and accessibility through co-production, learning from nature’s design principles.

Clear Path

Pauline is engaged by Marylou, founder and owner of Clear Path to help create internal collaborative systems and process-orientated documents that support the team. All processes are designed to support Marylou’s vision for sustaining the business in the future through their empathetic approach to professional organising, seniors downsizing and moving and estate clearances.

Pauline designs and facilitates team training, managing on-site as needed, liaising with clients and the team, overseeing logistics, reporting and documentation.

Therapeutic Horticulture

A visual learning process helped connect the dots between the themes and theories in the Root in Nature: Intro to Therapeutic Horticulture course and previous lessons through Lefika La Phodiso’s Community Arts Counselling programme.  Root in Nature shows us that wellness is an ecosystem that needs to be nurtured and respected, and how working with nature and in gardens can therapeutically help us achieve wellness and empower ourselves to live life on our own terms and with integrity. There are so many synergies between Community Arts Counselling and Therapeutic Horticulture, Creative by Nature looks forward to exploring the possibilities of weaving these methods together.

Parkhurst Village Fair

Parkhurst Fair was a yearly community event pre-covid which brought our Parkhurst community together. We hope that by reigniting the fair at Verity Park, we can once again bring our neighbourhood together, not only in celebration of Spring, but also to celebrate our sense of community through the activation. Verity Park is a much-loved public park, and the perfect location to bring us all together. Through this activation we will raise funds to support PRABOA’s many projects, which include maintaining the park itself, and supporting our public benefit organisations common good projects into 2026. A percentage of the money raised will be donated to local charity, which will be agreed upon by a specially appointed Parkhurst Fair committee. Creative by Nature provides a layer of  in-kind support related to project management, budget management, marketing and communication, community and stakeholder engagement, fundraising and volunteer communication.
